Vinted postage guide: parcel sizes, couriers and packing tips
Vinted works differently from most selling sites: the buyer pays for postage, using Vinted's discounted labels, and the seller's job is to choose the right parcel size and pack the item properly. Get the size wrong and the parcel may be refused or charged extra.
Vinted changes its couriers, sizes and prices from time to time. Always check the sizes shown in the Vinted app or on Vinted's help pages for your listing.
How Vinted postage works
- When you list an item, you choose a package size based on what you're selling.
- The buyer picks a courier option at checkout and pays for postage.
- You receive a prepaid label or QR code in the app.
- You pack the item and drop it off with the chosen courier within the time limit.
Choosing the right package size
Vinted's standard size is for everyday items like clothes, shoes, bags, books and accessories, up to 2kg. Heavier items such as games consoles, homeware and kids' furniture need a larger size. Each courier also has its own maximum dimensions – for example, InPost lockers top out at 64 × 41 × 38cm, and Evri limits parcels to 120cm long. See our guides to InPost locker sizes and Evri parcel sizes.
If you're not sure, weigh the item packed and choose the size that covers it. A buyer can always be asked to approve a size change before paying.
Packing clothes for Vinted
- Use grey mailing bags – they're light, waterproof and cheap in bulk.
- Fold neatly and add a sheet of tissue paper. Buyers notice presentation and leave better reviews.
- Squeeze out the air before sealing, especially for InPost, where depth decides the locker size.
- Clean and check the item, and photograph it packed, in case of a dispute.
Bundles
Bundles are a great way to sell more, but check the total weight and size. A bundle of several jumpers can easily go over 2kg or become too deep for a small locker. Weigh before you accept a bundle offer.
Shoes and bags
Shoes travel best in their original box, wrapped in a mailing bag. Structured handbags should go in a box stuffed with paper so they keep their shape.
Dropping off
Most Vinted couriers offer QR codes, so you don't need a printer. InPost lockers are open 24/7, and Evri ParcelShops are often in supermarkets and newsagents with long opening hours.
