How to pack a mug for posting

  1. Fill the inside of the mug with crumpled paper.
  2. Wrap it in two layers of bubble wrap, with extra around the handle.
  3. Put at least 3cm of padding in the bottom of the box, place the mug in the middle, and fill all the gaps.
  4. Shake the box gently - nothing should move.

Common mistake: Handles are where mugs break. Wrap the handle separately before wrapping the whole mug.

Good to know

For gift mugs, a double-box (a small box inside a bigger one with padding between) almost guarantees safe delivery.
